About Cotter

Cotter is a very special place to us. We  feel its best asset is the White River. With its natural beauty, cliffs, soaring eagles and 6,000 trout per mile, the White River has earned its fine reputation.

Cotter's second best asset is the Big Spring Park which has a gazebo, pavilion, Railroad Workers Memorial, a special place for youth under 16 and the handicapped to fish, a  rope swing over the spring itself, public boat ramp,  and baseball fields.

If you are planning a wedding or reunion, this area has  perfect entertainment  for all ages. The City of Cotter rents the Spring House and pavilion for very reasonable rates: 870-435-2663.

Cotter has been fortunate to have many visionaries who created the Big Spring Park, restored the two cabooses and fixed up the old Spring House. All of these sit under the historic rainbow arch bridge which was restored during Cotter's centennial year, 2004.

Big Spring Park is the site of the Railroad Workers Memorial.

The rope hanging over the Big Spring is the favorite place for Cotter kids all summer.
